| Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone. We hope you had a wonderful time with friends and family.... we sure did. Thanks to last week's performers, Geri X and Christy Lenee and band. Some amazing music. We'd also like to thank all of our weekly singer songwriters for sharing their music with us. Special thanks to Steve Tolliver for writing another tribute to The Hideaway Cafe and his fellow musicians entitled, "Thank You"... great job Steve. Well, we have a few more days until 2012. It's hard to believe another year has gone by. So much great talent and so many special nights. Thank you all for making this our best year yet. I had the great privilege of recording more live shows this year than our first two and want to thank all the artists that allowed me the opportunity. We have some changes in store for 2012 both on the music side and the Cafe itself, particularly with our menu. We look forward to expanding it a bit in an attempt to create a dinner atmosphere to bring more of an audience to our weekly writer's nights. Also, as you may have already noticed, we've had guest hosts on several Tuesdays and Thursdays and we look forward to inviting more in the new year. We have two more great acts for you that will close out 2011 beginning tonight with, Third Wheel Tuesday. Third Wheel Tuesday (comprised of 3 best friends) has been playing music together for the last three years. The band got it's jump start during The Flood of 2010 in Nashville TN. Stranded (but safe) for 5 days in an apartment with nothing but recording equipment and beer, Third Wheel Tuesday recorded their first 4 songs and released them online. Since then Miles, Mandy, and Sarah have been playing together all over the U.S. packed into their small Chevy Aveo (with room for their mascot Klaus the dog). The venues range from colleges, coffee houses, bars, restaurants, to private parties. They were featured on News Channel WDBJ7 Roanoke VA and performed live in the studio. When this goofy trio isn't on stage cracking jokes in three part harmony, or in the car headed to another gig, they're teaming up with charities like Autism Speaks, Second Harvest, and Musicians On Call. Please don't miss them as they quickly pass through our awesome little city. Doors at 5 PM - Show time at 7 PM. FREE Friday, we say goodbye (for now) to good friend, singer songwriter and all around GREAT GUY, Booth Jewett. Booth's played on our stage on many occasions and now, we're saying farewell. Please join us as we party one last time with one of St. Pete's best. He'll have two of his old bandmates and long time friends joining him.... its gonna be a big night. Doors at 6 PM - Show time at 8 PM. $5 Alrighty folks.... all for now. Here's wishing you a Happy New Year and hoping your Holiday season is filled with the spirit of giving. Cheers! john |
