Antsy McClain & the Trailer Park Troubadours Nov. 6th!

I don't think you're gonna want to miss this one. Antsy McClain is a songwriter, story-teller and entertainer who sings about life in an American trailer park. His band, The Trailer Park Troubadours, are a skilled assortment of musicians who play in the rootsy, rock and roll tradition of their hard-working, blue collar forefathers. Their live shows are a unique, critically-acclaimed mix of masterful musicianship and self-depricating humor for all ages. Aside from being a singer and band leader, Antsy McClain is also a visual artist, whose drawings and paintings have appeared in magazines and books. His portfolio can be viewed on his personal website and his music on myspace.

Jim Beckwith will be opening the show at 7:30 PM. Jim is a singer with a unique and compelling voice; a soulful texture that draws on influences from jazz and pop to R&B and voices from around the world. His voice has been called 'a male Sade' and something like 'a refined Sting'. Even so, he shows up with a voice all his own, and lyrics that make you think and feel. As a solo performance he'll usually do finger-style acoustic guitar, but don't be surprised if he pulls out a drum or bass to sing along with. Beckwith has players on his CD that have worked with major artists like Sting, Stevie Wonder, James Taylor, Rickie Lee Jones and Taj Mahal. His African-influenced tune 'Human Nature' scored a radio hit in Ghana, West Africa with a sound something like you might hear on Paul Simon's Graceland.

Check out some of his tunes here.

Tickets for this show can be purchased here or at the door the night of the event. All tickets are $10 and include all Florida State sales tax.

Lastly, come join us for a little happy hour tonight 6PM to 11PM. Maybe a little pickin barside or a few tunes on the stage... whatever the case, bring your "music" with ya... we're listening.

All for now,

Cheers, john

Pauly from 'down undah' played a wicked keyboard! as well as flute. bongos accordian and Pan pipes. If he broke out bagpipes, I was leaving :-) The Hideaway is getting better with age! Thanks John!
