A great night with our house band, the JKB!
Since I know John won't be blogging about himself, let me take this opportunity...
Well, we finally got The John Kelly Band to play for us on THE STAGE that was built for great music! And the JKB delivered! As John often says, "we captured some of St Pete's finest"....and if I do say so, last night was yet another example of that. If you weren't here, make sure you coerce the JKB to do it again! We were lucky to have the whole crew together for a night of family, friends and holiday cheer. A special thanks to Joe Milligan, Jay Kiernan and Douglas Lichterman for opening the night and for treating us to some fine tunes. Thanks to all of you who came out and shared the night with us. And what a surprise turnout it was!
It was truly great to see the amount of canned goods everyone brought along with them....'tis the season and we all know how lucky we are to have all we have. So thank you for your gifts. It feels good to turn it around and give it to those who truly need it. So, any time you feel like bringing canned goods, you can be sure they'll find their way over to St. Luke's Food Pantry, any time of year.
On that note, we have a CD for sale here at the Hideaway and, sadly, forgot to make mention of it last night. "Songs of Hope", a compilation CD put together here at the Hideaway by Rob and Tammy Rehnke features several artists who have already graced the Hideaway stage - Dustin Overbeek, Matt Butcher, Thomas Wynn, Justin Beckler (from Thomas Wynn), Jose Valentino, J Prada Project, John Church and John Kelly. In addition, you'll hear a few other artists you may have seen around town - Suite Caroline and Tom Gribbin. A $5 donation and all proceeds go to Pinellas Hope, a great cause in our very own community. So, be sure to pick one up next time you're here!
We hope everyone has a great holiday weekend and if you're wondering what to do tonight, head on out to the Old Northeast Tavern to hear the JKB for a second night!
