Story:

Sayin' Nothing is about all the times when you really just don't know what to say in a certain situation. Similarly it is also about all the times when you have way too much to say and can’t find the right words or phrases to get that "punch" or satisfaction that words can sometimes have. The line "I need a good day" isn't necessarily saying that the man in the song is having a bad day but it is saying that he needs a day where he can say all the right things, at all the right times and have all the words he needs on the tip of his tongue.
