Just like You
Just like You
by Mark Doran
Well, I sent them my CD and they liked what they heard. They loved the music, melodies and words. So they got on an airplane to see my show. They're bringing me a contract and a pocket full of dough.
But now they're telling me....now they're telling me."yeah we like your songs but you're to old. We're looking for...well ...a younger version of yourself, who plays just like you. Words that dance upon the page, touching hearts of every age. That writes just like you. But you're hard to package...just a bit to old. It might affect the albums sold"
As I sat at the table, I didn't know what to say.I just grabbed my guitar and said "have a nice day. But the people that come here to hear me play. They care about the music, and don't care about my age.
