Over the past ten years, I've earned a reputation as an Americana influenced singer/songwriter as the leader of the band Hangtown. However, I got my start playing power-pop/rock with Big Deal recording artists Barely Pink in the mid-to-late 90's, and even before that with the Chicago-based Hushdrops. This new CD is what I would call my “back to the roots” record, which is ironic, since there are no real roots-rock songs on it. Stylistically, I haven't released a CD like this since my days with Barely Pink, and I must admit, it was a ton of fun to record. For more about my musical adventures, check out the History page here at the site.
Misled features some of the most talented musicians in the Tampa Bay area, including some of the members of the critically acclaimed Ditchflowers, as well as previous members of Hangtown. I'll be playing a lot of shows in support of this CD release, so be sure to check the Shows page often and come on out and pick up a copy of Misled.
I'm also the official Americana Fest organizer for communtiy radio 88.5 FM in Tampa. This is an annual event that I started in 2006, which showcases Florida-based Americana artists. Every year we celebrate our burgeoning Americana music scene on an outdoor stage at Skipper's Smokehouse on a sweltering hot evening in mid-July.
